Join us at the Key City Theatre to connect with local food system folk and learn more about actions being taken towards Indigenous Food Sovereignty.
For Indigenous food sovereignty activist Jacob Beaton, the current reality of Indigenous food sovereignty has pushed him into action. In just 3 short years, Jacob has transformed his family farm into Tea Creek, an Indigenous Food Sovereignty training center with a mission to bring back the abundance that once defined Turtle Island. But for Jacob and his team, getting here has been hard fought. Faced with the impacts of colonization, accessing funding, the effects of the climate crisis and the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma, Jacob is constantly battling to keep Tea Creek afloat.
